Borneo is the third-largest island in the world and its rainforest is 140 million years old, making it one of the oldest rainforests in the world. The Borneo rainforest is one of the few remaining natural habitats for the endangered Bornean Orangutan. It is an important refuge for many endemic forest species, including the Proboscis Monkey, Asian Elephant, the Sumatran Rhinoceros, the Bornean Clouded Leopard, the Hose's Civet and the Dayak Fruit Bat.

Our Luxury Eco-Resort Borneo Escape tour is specifically crafted for you to immerse in the best of Borneo's nature in 5-star luxury style!

The resort is home to an eco-friendly championship golf course, a nature reserve, and an Orangutan Education Center.

Once settled in, enjoy a sunset drink as you witness the skies being turned into a multi-color twilight zone as you transit into nightfall. You have arrived at paradise.

Day 2: Say Hi to Borneo's Icon - the Orangutan

Wake up to the enchanting view of the new sun rising over the majestic Mount Kinabalu, Southeast Asia's highest mountain. After breakfast, head over to the Nature Interpretation Center and start your journey of getting to know the mysterious Orangutan, the most arboreal of the great apes and considered one of the most intelligent of primates. Learn about them, their habitat and related re-habitation efforts as they go about their activities right in front of your eyes. This journey concludes with a canopy walk as your ranger helps you skim the surface of Borneo's mysterious ancient rainforest.

In the afternoon, you can choose to unwind by the Pantai Dalit private beach, go para-sailing, horseback riding, embark on a river excursion, or even participate in a cooking demonstration! These are just some of the many activities that the resort offers.

Dinner is a myriad of mouthwatering dishes, both Asian and Western, served alongside lively local tribal dance performances and fire torches. If you still have energy after the festive dinner, you can choose to join the Nocturnal Animal Watch activity and get an opportunity to encounter rare species of Borneo's nocturnal wildlife, such as the Sambar Deer, Barking Deer, Mouse Deer, Civet Cat, Slow Loris, Common Porcupine and many others.

Day 3: River Cruise and Borneo's Very Own Natural Christmas

After breakfast, we will transfer you to another one of Kota Kinabalu's 5-star location - the Pacific Sutera Hotel nestled within the magnificent Sutera Harbour Resort. After lunch, head to the Klias Wetlands and Mangrove Forest which is about 2 hours ride away from the city center. Once you arrive at the Klias jetty, you will be greeted with tea and coffee served with local snacks and pastries at the main lounge area. After tea time, you will be escorted to your boat and ride along the tranquil Klias River as you try to spot for all the different wildlife that live there - different species of birds, monkeys (including the endangered Proboscis Monkeys) and water buffaloes. As dusk approaches, you will be taken back to the main lounge area for a dinner consisting of local cuisine while you enjoy another one of Sabah's famous sunsets.

After nightfall, it is back to the boat again and this time, the Klias River is transformed into a breathtaking display of Christmas lights come alive, with fireflies lighting up trees along both sides of the river.
