Day 1: Islamabad to Astore, via Kaghan & Naran

Islamabad to ASTORE, via Kaghan & Naran (about 700 kms in 16 + hours), Islamabad to Kaghan (about 230 kms) in 7 hours plus. Around 06:00 a.m. right after breakfast we leave for Gilgit. Arrive in Kaghan first and enjoy the scenic beauty. Kaghan to Babusar Pass (about 90 kms) in 2.5 + hours (via Lulusar Park). Then move to Babusar Top without stopping at Naran. Spend some time here to appreciate nature. Have late lunch there. Finally arrive in Rama, ASTORE. Drive to your ‘Wazir Guest House’; have your dinner and spend the night there.

Day 2: ASTORE

After breakfast, visit Chilas. Then visit Rama town. Visit the impressive Rama Lake. Have your lunch there. Rama Lake is on the top of the beautiful Astore Valley that has a light covering of oak trees and other greenery. Return back to your guest house. Have dinner and spend the night there.

Day 3: ASTORE to Hunza (about 140 kms in 5 hours)

After early breakfast and check-out, drive to Raka-Poshi Viewpoint. It is about 30 kms from Hunza valley in the South West. Then visit your hotel in Hunza town for check-in. Have your lunch there and some time to relax. Afterwards, drive to Attabad Lake. It is about 20 kms East from Hunza valley. Optional activities to do: boating in the lake. d) After the visit, drive back to your guesthouse in Hunza. Have your dinner and spend the night there.

Day 4: HUNZA

After breakfast, drive to Baltit Fort. It is about 4 kms from Hunza valley and takes around 15 minutes. Baltit Fort was founded in the 8th CE, it has been on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative list since 2004. Then visit the Altit Fort. It is about 6 kms from Hunza valley and reach in 30 minutes. Have your lunch in nearby restaurant. Altit Fort is an ancient fort at Altit town in the Hunza valley in Gilgit Baltistan. It was originally home to the hereditary rulers of the Hunza state who carried the title Mir, although they moved to the somewhat younger Baltit fort nearby three centuries later. It was restored in 2007. Afterwards, drive north to Khunjerab Pass / China Border. It is about 180 kms from Hunza valley and it takes 4+ hours’ drive. Take your photos and then drive back to your hotel in Hunza. Have your dinner and spend the night there.

Day 5: Hunza – Skardu, Baltistan (180 kms in about 6 + hours)

Early morning, after breakfast and check-out, drive to Skardu, the heart of Baltistan. Check-in at your hotel, have lunch and relax. After lunch, drive north to visit Shangrila Resort which is about 18 kms in 1-hour time. Then visit the Upper Kachura Lake, further 3 kms North, in about 10 minutes’ drive. After the visit, return back to your hotel to have dinner and night stay.

Day 6: Skardu

After breakfast, leave for Sadpara. It is about 10 kms from Skardu town. Sadpara is the town of mountaineers. It has given us big achievers like Hassan Sadpara, Ali Sadpara, Muhammad Ali, Nazir Sabir and many more. Enjoy the natural beauty of Sadpara lake. After the visit, leave for Deosai. It is about 30 kms from Skardu city and it takes around 1 hour to reach there. Enjoy the park by trekking through the fields. After trekking have lunch. After lunch, drive to Sheosar Lake, which is situated within the Deosai National Park on the other (western side, about 15 kms). It is located at the height of 4,142 meters. Between the months of November to May the area of Deosai is snow bound. During spring, the surrounding area is covered with wide variety of flowers and butterflies. Most visitors come to the lake in summer between June to early September. After the visit, return back to your hotel in Skardu.

Day 7 and 8: Skardu – Islamabad (635 kms over two days)

As the road to Islamabad is quite long, we'll have to have a stop to stay overnight after a long day of driving, followed by half a day of driving to Islamabad. We'll drive via Lake Saiful Mulook (330 kms in about 8 hours). Have late lunch and enjoy the beauty of this magnificent lake that is considered an important landmark of the region and is 1 of the 1,000 wonders of the world. Drop off to your residence in Islamabad.
