Itinerary 8 Days

Day 1: Arrival in Niamey
Today you will be met and greeted at the Niamey airport. From here you will be transferred to your hotel for a quick meeting and briefing with your guides.
Dinner is not included this evening. Overnight at the Grand Hotel or similar.
Day 2: Niamey - Agadez
Transfer from the hotel in Niamey this morning for your flight to Agadez. Upon arrival, you will transfer to the hotel.
Overnight at Hotel Agadez or similar.
Day 3: Agadez
Today we will depart and explore this historical city. Today will also include a meeting with the different leaders of the groups and with the visit of the Sultan and the representatives of the Sultan- participation in the preparations.
Agadez is quite known for its architecture and this, of course, includes the Great Mosque. A tower made of clay standing tall in the middle of the Sultan's Palace that originally served as a watchtower for enemies.
Day 4/5: Bianou Ceremonies
Over the next two days, you will experience the prep for the ceremonies and with that, the ambience with the rhythm of the culture and tradition. The drums and dances of the great carnival will stay with you for a lifetime.
After dinner around 9pm and about eight kilometers from the city, we will head to the night vigil that is held. Here there will be and hear dancing, chants, and tea at night. This vigil usually goes until dawn when the Turban starts at 5:30am.
Day 6: Agadez - Niamey
Depart from Agadez to Niamey today. Today (if still required) you will also take your COVID test in Niamey and return to the hotel.
Day 7: Niamey
Depending on the time of your international departure today, you will have to opportunity to either visit more of the city, a small excursion on the NIger rIver, or a possible visit to see the last herds of Giraffes in freedom. Meals in Niamey today are not included, however, do ask your guide for some great recommendations in the city!

OPTIONAL EXTENSION:
Should you have a couple of days and wish to explore the traditional chiefdoms and Haossa Villages in Niger I will go ahead and leave the itinerary change below.
Day 6: Rather than heading back to Niamey today as you would in the itinerary about, you will depart Agadez for Zinder today. This is about 405km by road. Upon arrival, you will transfer to the hotel for the night. Half board.
Day 7: Today you will explore the historic city of Zinder and its sultanate - one of the oldest in the country with Hausa influence. Late this afternoon you will transfer to Maradi and your guesthouse for the evening. Half board.
Day 8 : As we explore Maradi today you will visit the chief palace of Gobir and continue on to Hausa Villages and mosques. From here you will transfer to Konni and overnight in a local motel. Half board.
Day 9: Today you will depart Konni for Niamey. On route, you will stop at Djermakoye de Dosso Palace and Koure region to visit the last herd of free-roaming giraffes. Upon arriving in Niamey you will transfer to a hotel for a short stay to freshen up before transferring to the airport for your international flight out. Dinner not included.
