From USD $1,250.00
  • Duration: 3 Days (approx.)
  • Location: Luanda
  • Product code: cabinda

Cabinda is often seen as an entrance point for those wanting to enter the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) or the Republic of the Congo (ROC). The coastal city is located in the Cabinda Province along the Atlantic Ocean and the banks of the Bele River.

As you arrive at the airport in Cabinda from Luanda, you will have a chance to explore the city before turning in for dinner and rest at your hotel this evening.

Day two of your itinerary is packed with activities and sightings.

Covering an area of over 250,000 hectares, the Maiombe Forest Reserve is one of the largest forests in Africa and is a protected area that borders the DRC.  The Reserve offers an abundance of flora and fauna. The area is verdant and extremely lush, and absolutely breathtaking. In addition to exploring amongst trees that are over 50m tall, there is a great opportunity to see gorillas, chimpanzees, many different birds, and sometimes even elephants!

In addition to the reserve, you will spend some time in the nearby cities of Malongo and Cacongo. Though you will not see gorillas here, both towns offer plenty of history and much to be explored!
