Experience Sanjo Kaji Dojo's original forging and Japanese style knife making craftsmanship. From hammering on a lump of iron to using a spring hammer, you are guaranteed to get a true taste of the pleasure in forging. In addition, the quenching of the steel can be said to be the climax to this masculine process. Here, you can experience the authentic skills of forging, which is the foundation of the craftsman today.　

＊PLAN DETAILS/TIMETABLE

Composite material of iron and steel is used to make a knife.

2.Forging（１）

Strike the metal by hand and by machine to adjust the thickness and shape of the metal.

3.Forging （２）

Bend, draw and make the metal into your favorite shape. 

4.Shaping

Shape the metal into a knife using grinder and file.

5.Applying polishing powder

Before quenching, apply polishing powder to the whole surface of the knife using a brush.

6.Quenching

Heat the knife up to 780 Celsius （confirm the temperature by using magnets) and then put it in the water all at once.

7.Straightening

Correct the warpage of the knife.

8.Making the blade

Shape, smooth and polish the surface, and your knife is completed!
