THIS TOUR STARTS IN LUANDA BUT FLIES SOUTHEAST FIRST TO LUBANGO AND CONTINUES NORTHBOUND.
ITINERARY SUMMARY
Day 1: Arrival in Luanda - if you land early enough today, you can fly straight to Namibe. The flights run Sunday, Tuesday, and Fridays at the moment in the early afternoon.
Should you arrive too late, you will stay overnight in Luanda.
Day 2: Desert region of Namibe and the town of Virei, ‘capital’ of the Mucubal people.
Day 3: Tchitundo Hulo – Pediva. Tours and tribes in the area.
Day 4: Iona National Park – Leave the Atlantic coast and head for Angola’s largest protected area. Park drives.
Day 5: Oncocua – Meet three different ethnic groups – the Muchimba, the Mucawana and the Mutua. Spend time visiting Muchimba and Mutua communities and learning about their culture.
Day 6: Hangumbe – Drive to Hangumbe, a center for two more of Angola’s traditional groups, the Himba and the Mudimba.
Day 7: Chiangue – enter the territory of the Mugambue people, continue to the Portuguese settlement of Chibia. Visit settlement of the Muila people, known for their body decorations.
Day 8: Lubango – Luanda flight. (TAAG Schedule - evening flight)
